I breached my way into this world on January 20th, 1986. Exhausted, slightly chilly, and a bit jaundiced from the trip, I snuggled tightly with my yellow blankie. Aside from these details, my memory eludes me from much else.
I grew up in Nashville, TN and recently graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a major in International Studies and minors in French and Business. I currently work for an information services company that provides cost-of-living data to its clients. My position as a surveyor is to travel to various cities around the world on a global scavenger hunt, collecting prices that can be analyzed so our clients can better understand how to structure their compensation packages for employees working abroad. The 9 to 5 alternative is a way for me to chronicle my travels, an Internet hoard of places and pictures and experiences. When I'm not traveling, I write primarily on sustainability and entrepreneurship, two interests of mine that I hope to develop and refine through this blog. Posts will be published on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday while I'm in the states.
A big thank you, to you, the reader. A blog, for me at least, is not only a way for me to share my experiences, but more importantly, a way to connect with like-minded individuals. If you have something on your mind, please comment, shoot me an email, etc. Subscribe to my posts via RSS or by email if you would like to receive regular updates. This site is a two-way road! Let me know what's on your mind.
Cheers,
Alan.
